But, then again, the day will come when I want off that ride.Cause now you're not here and I'm knee deep in my own fear.Twelve pm and my dusty telephone rings.Heavy head up from my pillow, who could it be?The meaning I take from this is song is somewhat different from the views that were posted here.He is regretting it, because he now feels alone, like he didn't enjoy any of it, and kinda afraid.He isn't so sure he wants to be back to that.He really misses her, but he knows she doesn't need him.The way the lyrics are put together gives me the impression that he is giving away to regret, but, with every chorus, he snaps out of it, realising that maybe that relationship wasn't doing him any good, that he made the right choice.He's had enough of it, the dillema and the relationship, and is finally breaking free of it.To answer tash, I think it's a guitar with a muted effect.It means that it doesnt matter who your with when you still regret breaking up with the one girl that was right for you but wont take you back, no one is ever good enough for you..As for my personal ideas of what he means between the two lines in the chorus...He'd rather be happy then right.But, then again, the day has come and I want off that ride.To hell with my pride, I still love you, please forgive me.It's an amazingly deep song...The lyrics are really good too...Who's you, first in what, and who's side is this person not on.Review the song 11am
