Instilling lurid visuals into the listeners' psyche, 15 Degrees Below Zero's second new demo creates an expansive atmosphere befitting the track's title.As the second of two demos released on their MySpace page, 15 Degrees Below Zero track the evolution of their upcoming follow up to Under a Morphine Sky.It's difficult to describe the band's sound without resorting to metaphor, but with sounds such as this, nothing could be more appropriate.Some very subtle squeaks of static noise lie just beneath the surface of the track, like rats or insects scurrying in the walls and on the floors.As the track comes to a close, the drone fades out into a scratchy bed of static ambience, as if coming to an opening at the end of the hallway.If 15 Degrees Below Zero can stay on this lurid and intriguing path, then their next album may yet be one of their best.You are currently not logged in, but you can still subscribe to our newsletter.Driven by a rather monotonous stuttering of tones, almost like a CD caught in a continuous skipping loop, and then overlaid with waxing and waning hints of distorted ambience a la guitar feedback, the track runs on for longer than is comfortable.This, however, demonstrates part of the band's intrigue, for the moments in between the noise carry some strange resonances, creating the intimations of melodies without actually being melodies.HNJ has organized at least1 week 1 day agosounds pretty despERATE
