unique and explosive set laced with uplifting beats, dynamic interplay, innovative routines and eccentric humour.Deadly Concoction and Tough Justice, to the softer, reflective ambience of Below the Surface, which features the harmonies of female singer Tiff.Having hit spots down the East Coast to launch their debut release in late 2006, and said a sad farewell to friend MC Shamrock, 206collab have hit the ground running in 2007, setting a heavy work schedule for the next release and continuing to perform in spots around the country. This is what you waited years for.....You kids have got it goin on!!!Well done lads, keep'n it real.Australian and underground hip hop across the country and the world.Club, each member of the 206 crew has individually worked with a number of other Australian artists.Easy LP with Ken Hell in recent years. For more information on 206collab, visit www.What You Waited Years For, is available now.North Sydney, notably the popular Nufunc open mic and battle nights held at Greenwood Hotel.Eso, 2Up, Fizard, Brethren, Maya Jupiter and DJ Flagrant, as well as playing support for infamous UK beatboxer Killa Kela on his Australian tour.Collab are now well and truly ready to record and send their produce out for the world to hear.Club, each member of the 206 crew has individually worked with a number of other Australian artists. The album artwork is courtesy Australian records you remember really getting into? There's so much good Australian music out there, it's hard to limit it to one or two!To keep it to hip hop because that's what we do, people like Koolism, Hilltop Hoods, Brethren, Pegz, Mass MC, DJ Bones, Def Wish Cast, Funkoars, Downsyde (and heaps of others) have all been big influences on us.The 206collab MCs have been fans of Melbourne crew Battletown since first getting into Australian hip hop. They created a good bridge to Australian hip hop from American rap music and really influenced us to look locally and support the local scene. The Culture of Kings II compilation, BlissnEso's The Arrival, Koolism's Bluenotes, Mass MC's Bbq Song are just a few other local releases that influenced us in a big way over the years. It's hard to say exactly when we started working on the release because the work we did before we got serious about recording all contributed.Performing hip hop is about projecting presence and being able to entertain a crowd with your skills and personality.Recording and producing our own music was a great learning experience. The result can be a pretty shoddy release, and we wanted to avoid this.No matter what genre you're into, if you expose yourself to a greater variety of music you'll be able to bring more ideas into your own.The funky, wild production and cartoonish lyricism struck a chord amongst our friends, and pushed people like us to seek other groups that produced music on this vibe.People Under the Stairs also gets an honourable mention as a more recent major influence and favourite group of some members of 206collab.More locally, 2Up is a group that have been great friends to 206collab.We really clicked the first time we performed together in 2003 and they've put us on a lot of shows and featured us on their LP, Players Club, since then. Also we mention again the group Brethren. They inspired the 206collab to include a positive message in our music, performed with us on stage and helped us out with advice on things like production and building a recording booth.Top that off with great samples and a killer beat from the infamous Plutonic Lab and you have a classic track we wish we were responsible for.Other honourable mentions are Wizdm's Raw Forming and a number of tracks off Optimen's Boom Town LP and the Hilltop Hoods' various albums."For a living", hah good one!At this stage, our music is for the love and a bit of cash for expenses, beer and a new piece of equipment every so often.Maybe some drums made from pork?If you were stranded by yourself then maybe a harmonica would be best.Just look at the movies: all prison inmates play harmonicas!Particularly concerning Australian hip hop, take an interest in the local scene and support it.Lastly, what do you get out of making music that makes is so special to you?Music is an amazing creative outlet.Hip hop rhyme is a great medium for expressing your thoughts and feelings about anything (science to sadness to politics, anger, whatever), and hip hop music impacts people strongly in a lot of different ways.We were all strongly impacted by this culture and style of music when growing up, and that's why we do it.Having a yarn with John Bu...Variable("rollover1", "Add song to your profile..."Variable("rollover2", "Remove song from your profile..."Variable("rollover3", "View user's song
