of Peter S.Cruelest Night (London, Hodder and Stoughton, 1979),
although this is regretfully out of print.After five years and numerous successful and highly regarded releases A Challenge Of Honour returns to Divine Comedy Records of France with yet another memorable release that is certain to inspire and entertain fans of bombastic neoclassical music.Akira Kurosawa who died in 1998.Akira Kurosawa remains one of Japans most widely recognized era.Peter Savelkoul set about creating an alternative soundtrack that though inspired by the film is not intended to be a scene by scene score but rather a collection of musical impressions.Peter has inserted into many songs.Having abandoned his past reliance upon sampled sounds Peter now creates all of the music of A Challenge Of Honour without the assistance of classical music samples.The track is fairly brief and when it retreats song two returns the listner to the anticipated sound of A Challenge Of Honour.The string instrumentation is joined by cycling moments of expansive sound that start low then expand across the track like a mutated trumpet call.As the composition builds multiple layers merge and converge creating a lush neoclassical atmosphere that soarsforth inspiring a sense of grandeur.The music achieves its success by remaining uncluttered and rather repetitive as the strings orchestration cycles over and over leaving the electronic elements to play about shifting and retreating.Peter has marshaled for this album.The song begins with a solo drum beating a militaristic march.The snare enriches the militaristic feel of the music as the song builds to include crashing cymbals and additional layers of drumming.Peter has successfully retained a signature musical personality that embodies a sense of martial ritualism with hints of an oriental influence.The music inspires feelings of honor, bravery, and determination in the face of adversity.This rhythmic passage is simultaneously daunting and inspiring keeping with the established and celebrated aesthetic of Challenge Of Honour.Challenge Of Honour into some rather dark waters.The album begins with a murky introduction of slowly pulsing dark ambience.The drums shift pattern several time keeping the listner engaged as you transverse this darkest of musical domains.Victory seems not a celebration but rather a return to primal sensibilities stripped of reason yet driven by purpose.Like wolves tearing at carrion the whispering electronics swirl and part retreating back into the darkness as the drums demand their obedience.Peter would address this new venture seeing how the previous albums of A Challenge of Honour have mostly pursued themes centered on events in European history.Peter apply the neoclassical instrumentation of A Challenge Of Honour to a Japanese film.All trademarks and copyrights on this page are owned by their respective owners.She is to be betrothed to his sworn enemy, the Count de Lerida.And what sweet vengeance it would be to take the bride before the wedding.Devious plots are afoot, and Celina is wary of trusting anyone, including the man whose brazen sensuality tempts her to think of nothing but her own desires.But the bride will do anything to avoid the wedding...Join the Topix community today.Islamic charity inquiry
