Make a photo poster collage!It saddens me that someone lost his life like this, but the only thing that it would have taken to prevent this incident is good judgement.If I make the choice to put my foot on the gas and race with someone, then I am smart enough to know that the end result could very well be either my own death or the death of the person I am racing with.Either of these boys could have used that type of judgement and none of this would have happened.Saddly, good judgement does not always prevail.Who knows what goes on in teenagers minds these days.Teaching these two most important things to our children would do a lot to get them safely thru the difficult years ahead of them.Let us all remember that they are NOT adults, they are children.We, as parents, must teach and reinforce the necessity of making good decisions.There was no decision, good or bad, made here.This was an instantaneous impulsive reaction which resulted in a tragedy for two families.My prayers will be with them as they work through this horrific time in their lives.As for the driver charged I am sorry to say but I know him,this young man has a problem with everyone he comes in contact with.On numerous occasions he has been told he shouldnt be driving like a mad man,yes he has done this before (drag racing).This was told to me by a reliable person who was there at that accident.Street racing is a major problem with our teens today.Adam's parents, who are fine upstanding citizens of Lenoir, critizing how they raised their son.Adam respect and to be responsible, but he was 16 years old.You would think that a 19 year old would have far more maturity than a 16 year old tho.Teaching these two most important things to our children would do a lot to get them safely thru the difficult years ahead of them.Its not something I think about very often but now I very likely will.You see, I too know Brian.And speaking of that heart....Brian tries so hard to act as if he don't care about anything or anyone, but it's all show.Adam, is eating Brian alive on the inside.He brags about this and he brags about that, but again it's all show.God above, but I do know that if you love Brian, and show him that you do, and give to him true friendship in Christ, you cannot find a sweeter child.Please Pray for the Lacky family as they try to face life without their precious son.And pray for Brian that he will seek the Love that Calvery has to offer, through Jesus the Lord of Lord's and King of King's.And through Him, the wisdom to make better choices in the future.While Adam Lackey lay dying on Thursday morning,Brian was telling people that they have dragged raced forever and there is nothing the police can do about it.He made a bad decision, but that decision was influenced by peer pressure.OR, think back to all the things you did growing up, that you didn't want your parents to find out about.May God give the Lackey's strength...Adam, or any teenager had unlimited freedom and no rules.My guess is that most teenagers have rules given to them from their parents, but how many actually follow all of them all of the time?He did EVERYTHING I never thought he would.Thankfully, today he is no longer running with the wrong crowd.Even when parents do everything they can, sometimes children rebel.He did EVERYTHING I never thought he would.For several years, everytime the phone would ring (if he wasn't home), I would think he had been killed in an accident, or was in jail.He has settled down, and is now trying to straighten out the mess he made of his life.God is in control, an we as humans, as hard as it is to understand something this tragic, must remember that, and pray that His will, will be done, and that His mercy and grace will be a comfort to those in need, at this sad, sad time.The last thing anyone needs to be doing is pointing fingers.All of us know what happened, and what will be will be, but let us all know that GOD REIGNS, and He still controls all things.Let us just join together in prayer that those who are making decisions here seek His wisdom.There is not much difference in street racing by teenagers than adults who won't obey the speed limit and tail gate.DO learn from our examples.Brian has been charged with simple possesion of drugs to numerous speeding tickets.While Adam Lackey lay dying on Thursday morning,Brian was telling people that they have dragged raced forever and there is nothing the police can do about it.Brian has really showed remorse,hasnt he????Brian,Adam paid a higher price for his part.If Brian didn't tell YOU ABOUT THIS...If it means invading their privacy so be it.If Brian didn't tell YOU ABOUT THIS...No nerve hit, just stating if you don't know something for a fact...Please fill out the form below to set up an account and post your comment.Hickory Elk's Lodge honors a Hickory Police Ser...My Discogs
