Aira Force biography, Aira Force discography
Aira Force is a waterfall in the English Lake District, in the county of Cumbria.Ullswater, at a height of 150 metres.Aira Force lies on land owned by the National Trust. The Trust has provided facilities, such as car parking, disabled access, graded paths, and viewing platforms to make Aira Force one of the most famous and most visited waterfalls in the Lake District. The Lake Poet William Wordsworth paid many visits to the area around Aira Force; he was probably inspired to write his poem "Daffodils" with the opening line, "I wandered lonely as a cloud" as he observed daffodils growing on the shore of Ullswater near where Aira Beck enters the lake near Glencoyne Bay.The falls themselves are mentioned in three Wordsworth poems, with the most famous reference being in "The Somnambulist", where in the final verse he writes:
Wild stream of Aira, hold thy course,
Nor fear memorial lays,
Where clouds that spread in solemn shade,
Are edged with golden rays! This page was last modified on 11 February 2008, at 21:06.All text is available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License.Join our free newsletter to be entered into our prize draw sponsored by Wildlife Watching Supplies.Aira Force, near Ullswater, Lake District, U.Aira Force, near Ullswater, Lake District, U.Aira Force is located in woodland on the north side of Ullswater, about 3 miles along the A592 from Patterdale and about 150 yards from the junction with the A5091.Aira Beck to the magnificent waterfall of Aira Force which is 65 feet high. There are small bridges top and bottom of Aira Force giving superb viewpoints. The most common method of photographing waterfalls is to use a slow shutter speed, so that the moving water records as a graceful blur, as the light levels at Aira Force can be quite low due to the density of the woods you are going to have to use a longish shutter speed in any case. When taking an exposure reading of the falls remember that the water is highly reflective, consequently it will fool the cameras metering system, especially if you include a lot of water in your photograph.Aira Force, but we do not recommend walking along the road.Always check the weather forecast before your walk. This path is still fairly steep in places. One of a series of waterfalls situated in a beautiful
