Al Campbell biography, Al Campbell discography

Day One comme au premier jour !"However, some things haven't changed a bit.Looking back through the windows of time, I can see the differences vividly. When I started, we didn't carry tackle boxes but rather held all our tackle in vests or some other type of apparel that we wore, thus freeing our arms for the task at hand; we still do.My first fly rod was made of hollow steel and weighed a lot.It didn't take many hours to discover sore shoulders and wrists with that rod.Now I use modern graphite rods and light reels (I have many), that allow me the freedom of long days on the water without aching arms and hands. My first fly vest was an old shirt with the sleeves cut off and sewn in on the sides as pockets.Considering the weight of my current vest when it's fully loaded, I'm not sure that's a good thing. My first waders were heavy rubber things with soles slippery enough to warrant an increase in my life insurance. Some things remain the same.My equipment is newer and better, my flies don't draw as many laughs, my skills have increased, and I still enjoy the sport as much now or maybe more than I did then.Do you think I'll still love the sport 20 years from now?Looking forward through those windows I would say yes, but it's the view to the rear that's most honest. If you would like to comment on this or any other article please feel free to post your views on the FAOL Bulletin Board!Country Al Campbell's career in education and athletics spans nearly four decades. He began his career as a physical education teacher and coach at Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1964 and remained there until 1968.Campbell served as head track and cross country coach from 1968 until 1995, the longest service of any coach at Akron. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference Men's Coach of the Year in 1984.In 1995, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Akron's Dapper Dan Club.Al Campbell begins his fourth season as Walsh's cross country and track coach and 39th year in teaching and coaching.Al and his wife Nancy are the proud parents of two children, Patrick and Lisa and three grandchildren, John Jr.The Campbell's reside in Massillon.Location Class Information Track and Field Cross Country Why Walsh?
