more...Haca Megamensch Dub is a crazy dubnoise track influenced by dancehall beats and structures. They just finished a Version of a great Sizzla track originally released on Germaican Records....The track will soon be released on Different Drummer. The crew is now working on their first album. As a true sound system they are famous for their fx section combined with hand selected dub tracks .To be honest, they dub it all...Haca wax lyrical about defying music genres, their love for their collaborators and plans for 2004.Haca consists of four members right now.The whole story started in 1993 when Alex and two other dudes got together as a loose soundsystem formation.Reggae and Dub was always a focus for them, besides other alternative musical influences like Punk, even Disco, Elektro or whatever.Dub and the use of dub effects were used as a connecting link. The rise of UK Dub (The Disciples, Rootsman, etc.Budapest at the Sziget Festival.Richard was actually interested in releasing Microfish, but Sonarkolletiv was quicker and closer. We just do what we love and we do love a lotta different styles of music. How would you describe your sound?Who would you cite as creative and musical influences to your work?At the moment I enjoy Living Colour, Sofa Surfers and Debussy.Christian: Maybe because of the spirituality involved.Maybe because of missing conventionality, we work with universal styles.Arnd is the man for harmonies and song arrangements.Quite often he comes with an idea he got in mind and we start from scratch. So theres no schedule behind producing it.Christian: The vocalist with their lyrics, are very important for us.The diversity of the vocalists is, of course, connected to the diversity of styles we use as influences. There was no list of dream vocalist, but if I would have to put such a dream list together I would choose the artists we worked with. How does your music translate live? The MC is the entertaining guide through the night, guiding both the crowd and the DJ.Our own productions are always embedded within the DJ mix.We wanna have fun at the shows and so we use the soundsystem idea to choose the most fun or characteristic instrument for a certain song and this will either be played by Arnd or me.But also not like a plain DJ set. What are you up to at the moment?Klein Records Vienna in January 2004.Richard from Different Drummer and Tweed joined us for three amazing shows. Now we are doing a few shows in Germany and for next year we are planning a bigger tour. All Rights Reserved
ARTISTdirect is a federally registered service mark of ARTISTdirect, Inc.The "A with the arrow logo" is a service mark of ARTISTdirect, Inc.Ten years in the game as a soundsystem, 5 as a production team, two classic records released internationally along with a catalogue of remixes all amounting to well over 11 thousand records sold in 3 years, now those are some the points earned by the crew.Al Haca is an open source production collective with members based in Germany (Greifswald, Stuttgart, Berlin), as well as in Birmingham UK.Weed), however endless collaborations with other producers and vocalists is where the spice of the music comes from.Al Haca's remixes of songs originally recorded by the legendary Sizzla and Lady Saw, along with original vocal material by artists such as Shagon, Mr Dead and Spectacular are some of the features on the Al Haca full length records.Al Haca already appeared live in London, Vienna, Luxemburg, Brussels, Berlin, Geneva, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Bern, Budapest just to name a few.Beginners, Pressure Drop, Modeselektor etc.The Al Haca live shows range from a full band set up, which includes two vocalists, live electronic programming, live bass and guitar as well as live percussion, to a more stripped down version of the above mentioned, which is based on live programming and vocal participation.Selecta Pehle and DJ BIRD aka Faki Faki.Print out the headline

if ((counter !Microfish meets Stereotyp (it was eventually released through Sonar Kollektiv). And as for Microfish, well...Reggae and dub was always a focus for them, besides other alternative musical influences like punk, even disco, electro or whatever.Dub, and the use of dub effects, was used as a connecting link. The rise of UK dub (The Disciples, Rootsman, etc.Haca is formed by Alex Pehlemann, Oliver Weisse, Arnd Wollmann and me, Christian Schwanz.Alex and Oli are the main soundsystem DJs.Arnd and me are the producing part behind it.The link is between the crowd and the soundsystem.Besides that, we love effects like reverbs, long echos, little samples, pushy delays or dub sirens. Our own productions are always embedded within the DJ mix.So its not like a full concert, but also not like a plain DJ set. What are your impressions of the dub scene in general?Haca the perfect frame for the deeeep bass thing.Give us a little backround, if you would, about the making of the album. The next album might sound totally different. You are part of an outfit known as Microfish. Can you tell us about that one?You need to know that we come from a very small town called Greifswald, close to the Baltic Sea all the way up in Northeastern Germany, close to Poland. You have to create the scene.Haca is teaming up with him on a new album. Our focus will be the dancefloor...Asides from the project above, what's next for you?Besides that, we will continue building up our little promotion, artist pool and booking thing called Ostudio. This will keep us busy for a while.Stone recordings and Different Drummer, it was time once again to tear up the rule book and continue the passion for unnatural musical science in the sound laboratories of Vienna and Greifswald."Phase 3" is more then just a modern day or futuristic dancehall experiment. Its electronica aesthetic rather than the more dancefloor dancehall orientation gives clues to the origins of Stereotyp and the Al Haca sound system, hence, making it a perfect addition to the roster of Klein records, the true experimental label of Vienna.Stereotyp Meets Al'Haca's "Phase Three" is an interesting experiment.Think something like Shabba Ranks and Busta Rhymes holding it down in Vienna. With "Up There" the duo throw Middle Eastern influenced percussive ryhthms under dancehall vocals combined with a female speaking French in the background chorus. The rhythmic and vocal effect is unexpectedly infectious."Blaze n' Cook" is the only track that made it into 12" release (featuring remixes by Peter Kruder)."Synthesis" on the other hand, which has a sound entirely unlike any other on the album, is one of its strongest tracks. If ever a gem were to be plucked, this is it.Most of the instrumentation is built on samples, synths and programmed rhythms, but natural sounds and ethnically rooted rhythms come through strong as well. Thanks to all for the love and support!
