Slowly, it all starts to make sense.What makes BC Camplight, aka Brian Christinzio, worth your attention is his vision of America on the brink of collapse.You might not hear it, such is the immediacy of some of the glistening pop on offer, but the structure of this album is unsound.And Christinzio, on paper, is the perfect American: captain of his high school football team, tenor in the choir and an amateur boxer.The result is a crumbling masterwork that can, and will, be enjoyed superficially.Invest some time here, because BC Camplight is a troubled soul with a fascinating take on modern times.They're wrong, trying got them somewhere.Mucky bass lines and dirty synths?The new single is out the 16th of July!An absolute gem of a CD, which will have you humming the title song for months to come.Camplight could be just the wrench it needs.Been On Fire, The Hip And The Homeless).Much of my music on the last record was reviewed so highly because there were these undertones of murder, incest, and stuff like that veiled behind these summer time pop songs.With this album I took a step further.The album isn't supposed to be serious, funny, goofy, dark, light...Captain of his High School football team and tenor in the travelling choir, softly spoken and an amateur boxer, shy but commanding on stage, it was a spell of mental illness that would change his outlook on life completely.
