Ludacris' real name Ludacris?If you can tell me their real names then I'll tell you mine.PA: Ok, I will have to do some more research then.Was rapping and being in the entertainment industry a childhood dream or was it something that just came about by chance for you?How did you get started into the whole rapping thing?PA: When I first saw the cover of your CD I noticed two things.One, there was a Parental Advisory on it, and two, there was an Indian girl on the cover.That totally set off sirens in my head and I thought to myself "I wonder what kind of stuff she had to go through growing up!"Luscious tell me the scoop on what it was like being the only Indian girl on the block who wanted to rap about sex.DL: I think I had a pretty normal life growing up.They thought it was brilliant, I guess only because I was rapping about racism at the time.This one actually is about all the hard times my family and I had to go through.So there is a whole variety of topics that I cover in my album, not just sex.All I got to say to that is, I can do both at the same time..."PA: What career path would you have chosen if you hadn't pursued singing?DL: I actually wanted to be a Cop back in high school.Why didn't you stop when things got tough?DL: When things got tough, that is when I wrote my best songs.When things got tough, that is when I closed my eyes and pictured being in this world I am in now, with an album, fans, interviews...If you start giving up on things that you love when things get tough, then you really don't love what you're doing.PA: Who have been your biggest inspirations musically?Who do you admire and maybe try to shape yourself after?DL: My true inspirations are Tupac Shakur and Da' Brat.Has anyone given you a pat on the back for doing what you do?DL: Honestly, I have not yet received any negative feedback from parents.They may have a lot to say behind my back, but not directly to me.Ok, so when you listen to the album, you would never know a Desi girl is singing unless someone told you.DL: When I released my album, I wasn't even thinking that I would be labeled as a Desi rapper.Since the release though, I have received so much love and attention from my people that I'm cool with whatever you want me to be.Just remember, I am a Rapper.As far as my lyrical style and flow, I don't practice to sound a certain way.PA: What are your plans for a second album?DL: I just released my first album 'D'luscious Style' in October, so currently we are working to promote it.We will be doing a video and it should be out this Spring.My team is also to start rapping?When I was 11, I was introducing 2Pac's music to all my friends and cousins, who at time were listening to Amy Grant and Boyz 2 Men.D'Luscious: I don't think being a female in this game is hard, but I do believe that it is very different than being a male mc.Right now we don't have many female rappers out there doing music videos and stuff so I feel like I have to set my own standards of what I think is hot.Do you get what I'm saying?For a female, really you just gotta figure it out.I've been listening to him before I even started rapping.Nizam: Coming from an Asian background and household, was it difficult to garner support from your family and friends, with your aspiration to pursue a career in the music industry?D'Luscious: Well, I can't say it was hard in the beginning because no one knew of my passion for hip hop and my desire to pursue a career in the music industry.They had no idea that I wrote like a song a day and that I wanted to actually do this professionally.Luscious style is out now; can you tell us what kind of flavaz you have packed on this the album?Nizam: On your debut album you've got a track that talks about the Haters.D'Luscious: LOL, Doesn't everyone at one point have to deal with 'haters' in their life?It isn't the most positive song on the album but it definitely pumps me up when I'm feeling messed up.D'Luscious: My experiences, others experiences, fantasies, dreams...I've been blessed with a great talent to write songs and I think it is greater talent than me just rapping.When I hear a wicked beat, it takes me minutes to come up with a hook and maybe a half hour to write the verses.When I write on my own without a beat, sometimes I can have more fun with my lyrics and melodies because I have freedom of then it wouldn't be a surprise.Expect a lot of interesting and exciting dance routines and expect gorgeous people featuring in the video.But if I were to date, I like guys that are down to earth and that would put up with my music life.D'Luscious: Don't let anything hold you back.Many obstacles will come your way, many 'haters' will come your way.Don't do anything to please anyone in this industry.Do it for yourself and it will make you work harder.Also, reach out into your own community for help; you will be amazed of the response.Nizam: You career is pretty much in its early stages.There are so many things I want to achieve.First of all, I definitely want the whole world to know who D'Luscious is.Nizam: You've been doing a few live performances recently.Tell us the buzz you get while performing live!D'Luscious: Live Performances are absolutely my favourite part about being an entertainer in the music industry.The best part is when I look around in the audience and there are people singing along to my songs.It's a crazy feeling man.Nizam: It's becoming a bit of trend with Asian female Mc's with the likes of Miss Scandalous, Hard Kaur and Mc Topaz coming out of
