next album.Log in or sign up to rate, review, catalog, or tag this release.This is a real underdog (he recorded his debut when he was 54 years old!Almost every base pattern was old and rather worn out by 1971.But, fella, Hound Dog surely knew what to do with it.The guitar sound is a big ripping and crude piece of pleasure.Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers is a recording that revels in its simplicity.Yet each of these songs has energy and a drive that is captivating.Each of the songs have Taylor credited as the composer.Wild About You Baby, however, are reworks of original Elmore James classics with different lyrics and a different sounds.The influence of Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers is evident despite how simple of recording it is.This is a typical urban Chicago electric blues album with a dirty sound.All the tracks have a lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass and drums dominance.This is what the blues is all about.Apparently it only takes two people to rock a house.By the end of this record Taylor will have you convinced that he knows every single nanometer of his guitar intimately and most certainly has a name for it.Your foot might be tired from too much stomping as well.They break them up with blazing and gouging instrumental tracks.This record has my full recommendation.You can edit this pagei to correct data or upload images, but you must log in first.So before I praise Hound Dog's work here, equal kudos to Iglauer for helping
the Dog's music get recorded and released in the first place!An outstanding first album put together by Taylor.From it's somewhat mellow opening track, to
it's closer, Taylor's bottleneck blues make you beg for more.Wish it hadn't taken
