Generally, bands labeled as such are rock bands that are influenced by grunge.Rather, they often cite as influences those bands that influenced the development of grunge itself, such as The Melvins and early hard rock acts such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and punk bands such as Black Flag.However those bands show less of a relation to these "influences" making them more of idols than the true influences they were for grunge bands of the early '90s.The first huge "post grunge" albums were Sixteen Stone by British band Bush and Live's Throwing Copper.However by the end of the millennium, with disappointing follow ups by most "post grunge" artists, only a few bands, like Creed, maintained continued commercial success.Nirvana outfit, Foo Fighters, whose first two albums fit in with the rest of the "post grunge" pack.Today there are a number of post '90s bands still thriving commercially in this genre, most notably Seether, Puddle of Mudd, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Deadman, Smile Empty Soul, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Nickelback, Matchbox Twenty, and 3 Doors Down.Do you enjoy taking pictures?Have you ever wanted to be grunge?Or any grunge person you know?But remember, by reading this you already made a mistake as only a poser would look up how to be grunge or anything like that.Boys

Don't do this to be cool.Grunge is a way of life, not a way to seem cool and better than others.Avoid criticizing other music genres.You may think they listen to pure grunge, but that's what your music was called!Everyone has their unique taste; be your own grunge type.Your music doesn't need to be all grunge, most grungers will enjoy Classic Rock, Punk, even Thrash Metal music.You must know some grunge songs that aren't very popular.Don't think that just because you know "Smells Like Teen Spirit", or even "Hunger Strike" you totally know what you're talking about.This does not mean that you are Grunge.People you should know the history of include: Kurt Cobain, David Grohl, Courtney Love, Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, and Andrew Wood.For a start into more obscure grunge check out Sub Pop's The Grunge Years, and Sub Pop 200 compilations.Then check out more about the individual bands on the compilations.Warnings
