Eugene Peterson was educated at Seattle Pacific University, New York Theological Seminary, and Johns Hopkins University (where he specialized in Semitic languages).He was Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia until retiring in 2006.He now lives in Montana.The Message
Peterson is probably best known for The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language, which was written to try to make the original meaning of the Bible more understandable and accessible to the modern reader.Peterson explains:
