Jack Foster III biography, Jack Foster III discography

The blandness and "just sort of there" quality of the album is just as Matt described it.If this isn't a Christian rock album, it's as close as you can get without being one. There are a few moments that escape the mediocrity of most of the CD, but unfortunately those moments are more likely to be bad than good. The bouncy beat and odd instrumentation of "Sense of Static" attempt to inject a whimsical note into the album, but just come off sounding goofy. To quote Frank Zappa, is this guy kidding or what? But the crown jewel of goofiness on the disc is the spoken word piece "Gnosis," which leaves the listener wondering "what the heck was that"?There are a few bits here and there that I do like. For example, there's a brief instrumental section near the end of "Worst Enemy" that features a horn section and is a dead ringer for early Chicago. As a fan of primarily the more avant end of the prog sectrum, this glossy, professional music with very little real substance fails to grab me.I'm not in its target audience.Foster and company headline NEARFest one day.The Evolution of JazzRaptor, but what I can gather from reading the internet commentary is that it is a fairly diverse mix of styles.Unfortunately, I find that these margins are usually breached. The music is cold, clean and sterile and mixes a moderately busy brand of hard rock with lighter, lusher material. The lead track "Ebb and Flow" and the eighth, "Mean Solar Day," are good approximations of Rush's better '90s work. But that's not why you bought this record, so we'll get back to what we were doing."Jack Foster wants to make clear that he's a guy who thinks. He's in touch with his spirituality and he ponders the Big Issues.God is a hallway, God is a haven" (Neil Peart usually did better, too).Your worst enemy is you," goes the chorus), a syrupy ballad that conjures the worst of '90s Rush ("Ghost of a Chance" comes to mind here).Mercifully, it's over after 2:31, but it puts the listener in a difficult position insofar as evaluating the album as a whole: how much credibility or respect can you give an artist who thought that including this track on an album that already runs over an hour, was a good idea?Foster's vocals are smooth and accurate but nevertheless are characterless and he has much to learn about writing melodies. The music is blandly inoffensive and the playing is very professional but I just don't get anything out of a large portion of this disc.Other than the tracks I mentioned, not much makes me groan (other than the lyrics) but nothing really excites me, either. But if it includes you, you might want to give Raptorgnosis a try.It was made with you in mind.No Tears Left For Crying 5:22 2.Inside My Mind 5:16 10.The third solo CD by JACK FOSTER III, "Tame Until Hungry", finds this American musician and songwriter still in company of Trent Gardner and Robert Berry with whom he recorded both his previous releases, "The Evolution of JazzRaptor" and "RaptorGnosis".If you are familiar with those names, you need no further introduction. If not, well, then you're a neophyte.Asia's eponymous debut effort, "Alfa" and "Astra".Rock, infrequently flirting with standard pop, "Tame Until Hungry" is a lot more straightforward approach, with the singing being put on the head of the list almost throughout. The unnamed seven tracks all have to do exclusively with classic pop music, though their melodies aren't as catchy as those by artists who currently top the charts in that field, be it Christina Aguilera or Robbie Williams. With his latest release Jack Foster makes a compromise with the demands of the times, patently gambling on achieving commercial success, without fearing the difficulties he might meet on that thorny path or losing part of his old fan base either.Heaven on Earth 4:41 3.Love Goes 'Round 5:17 8."RaptorGnosis" is the second album by JACK FOSTER III, following his splendid debut with "The Evolution of JazzRaptor" from two years ago.Palmer and solo, amongst others).Unlike "JazzRaptor", most of the music and lyrics for which have been written by Foster, "RaptorGnosis" appears to be more a collaborative effort between him, Trent and Robert than his solo album, because the men equally contributed to this material, which is not only stated in the CD booklet, but (and what is essential) is also vividly traced in the sound.Flow is the longest and, simultaneously, most original, diverse and compelling track here, at least from a canonical progressive standpoint.Rock and Cathedral Metal, the amount of purely instrumental arrangements exceeding that of those going alongside the vocals.Flow, but nevertheless, the level of expressiveness the trio has reached here turned out to be unattainable for them in future. The said category includes five out of the twelve tracks present: Koan, Worst Enemy, Sense of Static, Mean Solar Day and Love Goes 'Round, none of which are groundbreaking, but good, especially Mean Solar Day, which would be the second best composition on the album.Rock ballads with interesting interactions between acoustic guitar and piano and heartfelt dramatics vocals. From a creative viewpoint however, it's a step backward. You may give each page an identifying name, server, and channel on the next lines.TODO: 1st day of visit s.Days since last visit s.Bohemian Soul is a luscious, stirring, alternative rock ballad. And then comes the third track, Feel It When I Sting , in which Jack and producer Trent Gardner (Magellan, Explorers Club) dust off the synthesizer for a classic progressive rock sound.Wait, there are still more genre turns ahead. And Nirvana in the Notes is a sensitive ballad inspired by jazz piano virtuoso Shelly Berg (who tickles the keys on this extended track and credits include Chicago, The Royal Philharmonic, Bonnie Raitt and the LA jazz scene).Jack Foster III is a genre bender of the highest order.Jack Foster III with prog rock and progressive rock.Read all
