Jack Jezzro and David Lyndon Huff have a fine understanding of rhythm and style.As a guitarist and bassman, Jezzro has been heard on albums for everyone from Loretta Lynn to Matchbox 20.Huff plays keyboards, percussion, drums, bass and synthesizer has shown up on recordings for artists as varied as Amy Grant and Megadeath.Jezzro's was Brazillian Nights, an collection of Latin guitar instrumentals.Teaming up for Worldbeat Brazil was a stroke of genius for the musicians.It's a great place to be inspired by because you can feel the romance and passion in the air there.Worldbeat albums truly reflect where music ig headed because I look at world music as everything from everywhere combined.The background music that seems almost orchestral in some spots and reduced to the feel of gental rain or summer breezes in others.Meanwhile Jezzro's guitair is gently melodic, ranging from whimsical to mystical in its tone.Part of that could come from the way the music itself was conceived.Huff created the framework of the songs, laying out the rhythms, backing tracks and main chord changes before Jezzro ever entered the studio.But on other tunes I took much more of an improvisational approach where I let David's rhythmic feeling dictate a mood to me and then I simply flowed in that direction.David Lyndon Huff and Jack Jezzro have teamed up to create Worldbeat Brazil.In my mind, this album is perhaps what would happen if Ottmar Liebert, Delerium, Deep Forest and Enigma came together to produce a CD with a Brazilian feel.Huff seems to be the more structured of the two.He created the initial song layouts and was responsible for the main rhythms, chord changes and backing tracks.Jezzro took a more improvisational approach while creating the CD."Carnival" starts off the CD with Latin guitar rhythms which evoke an upbeat, festive mood.Huff transition between the faster and slower paced songs.Some of the better tunes of this type include "Rain Forest," "Night In Bolivia" and "El Dorado."Usually, both of my cats ignore my music.However, while playing "Passion," for the first time, the cat that was dozing in my office and the one that came running in were both interested in the bird and jungle noises that were added.While this story has nothing to do with the music itself, I was rather amused to see both cats actively try to seek out where the sounds were coming from.This song has a bit of an Delerium feel to it.The song has a little bit of a jazzy backbeat."Shadows" has more promonent female vocals as instrumental accopanyment as well.It has two guitars and is a little heavier on drums.Worldbeat Brazil is quite an enjoyable CD.Sometimes the music is strong enough to take all my attention while at other times I can easily multitask while still enjoying the soothing sounds.Sorry, the page you're trying to reach is unavailable or the page may no longer exist.Click here to return to the MSN Entertainment home page or click this link for help.
