etc.Note: Contributions are used at own risk.What exactly am I soooo busy doing at 1am in the morning?Why are my arms so muscular?Believe it or not, I swear I hardly ever lift arm weights.Why do my calves sweat when I'm out at the track working out?Why are my eyes so big??Why don't you boycott your own job??Why do my fingernails grow so fast?Why do I have a million different tan lines??The tan around my ankles from wearing socks every day, the jog bra tan line, half tights tan line...Can't we just all get along?Why am I afraid to see blood??Why does Tyra speak so slooowly and drag her words out when she's trying to make a point?Why do men spend so much time rummaging around with stones, when often they have a diamond right in front of them??Why is blogging so much fun??IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME....And to think he wanted my mother to name my brother after him.Thank goodness she said no!!....NBC to be an American Gladiator.Im afraid to be upside down....The Lord's Prayer as a solo once at my dad's church about 5 years ago.LOVE a guy who smells good....I've been a bridesmaid 4 times....I've travelled to more than 50 countries....What are 2 things about you that people might not know???So this weekend at The Florida Relays in Gainesville, FL, I Jackie Edwards will be running on a 4X100m relay team.Now, I know to most of you, your question is so what?But what I do not do is run or sprint, to be correct....Trust me when I say that I earned my scholarship!!!Obviously, I've run once or twice here or there but you can literally probably count it on one hand.Fast forward to this upcoming weekend and I have VOLUNTARILY agreed to run with some real sprinters on a 4X100m relay and I am running the first leg.So what does this means?This means I have to come out of the blocks.The Games or anything, but it's just that thing of when you have 3 other people depending on you, you don't want to mess up.All I can say is if Beijing rolls around and you guys see me standing there getting ready to run the first leg of the Bahamian Olympic team relay, you might as well know now that I will be borderline ready to pass out and I'll be really surprised if my legs don't actually fail me and leave me buckling in the blocks, or worse yet...Anyway, this weekend is first.Wish me luck and here's to hoping I get the job done!!She respects herself and others.She is aware of who she is.She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated.If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire othersto reach the potential God gave them.Here's to loving who we are, staying true to ourselves, and not making any apologies for it!!!Urban Safari Design has upcoming in Malibu, CA.Hopefully we'll still sound like we have some sense:) and it'll confirm for them that we were and are the right choice!!LA because only here can you go for your first day of track practice and who might you run into at the track doing stadiums and getting their workout of sorts in too but Kanye West and Common.I've seen everyone from Mary J.I've seen Ryan Phillipe out there, Boris Kodjoe, that girl who wrote Diary of a Video Vixen (Super___), you fill in the blank; Barry Bonds, Ryan Gosling was in the weightroom (he was in that movie The Notebook)and Denzel has been in there too...Suffice to say of all the people I've seen out there, the most memorable one for me is Mr.He's been out there a few times and I have to admit that I did approach him to introduce myself and just simply to shake his hand.He is also from The Bahamas and so I used that as my "in", but I felt so honored to make his acquaintance.He was so warm and genuine and what made the encounter all the more meaningful was that I had just finished reading his book, Measure of a Man, which if you haven't read it already, is a MUST read.He gave me a hug and asked about my family, etc and I was truly humbled.I'm here for another couple days and then I head back to Orlando on Sunday night in order to be back in time for practice on Monday afternoon.He was out there filming some stuff for the upcoming Kid's Choice Awards that he is hosting this weekend and it's being held at Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus!!Turns out you actually can make real friends on here.Who knew that this experience would turn out to be so much more.She is insightful, and funny and brave and talented and her blogger name is Jewells.Orlando for a while and she sent me an email saying that she would be here for a few days as well.It was fun to hang out and see Jewells.She was even more delightful in person.We took her to the track yesterday so she could see us do what we do and I think and hope that she had good time.Maybe someday we can all have some sort of bloggers reunion....In the meantime, I will continue on this blogging path and who knows where it may lead!Ok, so before I even begin this post, let me just acknowledge that I know I am probably going to be in the minority on this one.Islands but that's not it, because almost all of my girlfriends from home have something from just about every designer there is.Truth is, I think it's just me.I've had 2 pedicures, one manicure....I'm pretty good at taking care of my own hair.Just give me a box of Optimum Care Regular perm and a pair of scissors and I can perm and trim hair with the best of them!!My thing is I like to get dressed up and I like nice things but I think the whole label thing is just not my cup of tea.Truth is, I'm not sure what I spend my money on.Living in LA costs a lot just for no good reason so that takes up a lot of money.And I do like to shop so don't get it twisted.All of this, to say that since I have been training down here in Orlando with my dear friend Joice, something shocking has happened.Joice is definitely into her designer items...I've ever even been in a Coach store.She somehow convinced me to go inside and "browse" around the sales that were going on throughout the store.Why did I end up buying this Coach wrist purse?Jackie Edwards
