could use more presence from the music industry."Download mp3s from Amor on their artist profile page.Amor has been playing music for most of his life.He began his musical pursuits by playing classical violin, but by his teen years he was playing guitar in a series of bands and later participated in performance art groups.French filmmaker Marianne Dissard, who was in Tucson making a documentary on the band Giant Sand.This is a great place to play music and not to live for music but to live with music.He has toured internationally and has collaborated with the likes of Howe Gelb, Joey Burns and John Convertino on his many albums.He is now recording an album with a new sound.There's more jazz and folk flavors.There was lots of improvisation and instrumental things happening.Now it's more pop, in the sense that it's based more in songs.You've begun writing your own lyrics.I've been writing a lot this past year.I'm working like a big boy now.On this new album, I'm going to have more songs in French because it comes more naturally to me.English is not my first language.If you could perform with any musician or band, whom would it be and why?I'd like to work with a musician from New York called Marc Ribot.He's a jazz guitar player, and he plays with Tom Waits a lot.He plays with lots and lots of people.Another person I would love to work with is Madeleine Peyroux.On the music level, there are lots of things in Paris, because it's a big city like New York, but as far as playing, it's very different than New York.In Paris, you would play once a month if you were lucky.In Tucson, the weird thing is it's a small town compared to Paris, but you get to play more than in Paris.Download mp3s from Amor on their artist profile page.Originally from France, Naim Amor is another great musician living in Tucson.His latest album, Sanguine, was first released on the Atmospheriques label in Europe, but this Sunday (December 2nd) Club Congress will host the local release party for the new CD.Locals Only, and you can now download the Naim Amor Studio 2A Performance and Interview.KXCI Locals Only Podcast Archive is proudly powered by WordPress and WPDesigner.
