The steps below explain how to use O2M to convert your Outlook email, email attachments, contacts, and calendar appointments on your Window's PC so you can move them to your Macintosh computer.Install and Start
Make sure you have the O2M program downloaded and installed on a Windows PC that is running Outlook.Make sure the Windows operating system and version of Outlook you are using are supported.Can Outlook and O2M Be Used Simultaneously?You can use O2M while Microsoft Outlook is open.In fact, we recommend it, because O2M runs a little faster if Outlook is already running.However, don't actively use Outlook while using O2M.If you send email,
move folders, delete email, or perform other Outlook actions while O2M
is scanning Outlook or exporting your data, O2M might get confused
and fail to finish its job, requiring you to restart it.On a Windows 98 computer, for example, you could find it by clicking on Start, then Programs on your desktop.When O2M starts up, you'll see the Ready menu with a Next button at the bottom.When you're ready, click the Next button in your O2M window.Save Folder
The Save Folder menu lets you specify the folder where O2M will save your Outlook files as they are exported.If you'd
like to choose a different folder, navigate to it by clicking in the Drive and Folder boxes.Click Next when you're done.If you didn't choose any email folders to export, skip to Step 7 below.You can export all of the mail in the email folders you selected,
or only mail that falls within a certain date range.To only convert mail within a date range, click Only convert email that is postmarked, then choose
the On or After and On or Before dates of your range.Here you can
tell O2M to not export files if they exceed a certain size
in kilobytes.If a file attachment exceeds your maximum file size,
you can choose to have the file saved
into an attachments folder on your hard disk, allowing you to examine the file later.If you check
this box, any attachments that are skipped will be saved inside a saved_attachments
subfolder within the Save Folder you chose in step 2 above.If you do this,
only email text will be exported, with no file attachments.If you'd like to save file attachments
into an attachments folder on your hard disk so you can
examine them later, enable the the If a large file is skipped...To export all email attachments to your Macintosh computer regardless of file size, choose the Dont skip large file attachments option.Skip Windows Attachments
Some Windows files, such as .To add a Windows file type to the list of files that will be skipped,
click the Add File Type button.To remove
a Windows file type from the list, click Remove File Type.If you don't want to export any contacts, leave all the folders unchecked.Otherwise, choose the
Other program that supports .Each
contact will be saved into its own vcf file.Most programs allow you to import a group
of vcf files all at once, so importing multiple files
into your favorite contacts program should be easy.You can change this category on your Macintosh machine
after all the addresses have been imported.If you're not exporting your calendar, skip to step 14 below.About Time Zones:
When it exports appointments, O2M assumes that times and dates
are correct for whatever local time zone where you'll be viewing the
appointment on your computer.The reason for this
is that Outlook doesn't keep track of the time zone where an appointment
is created, so there is no way to know how to convert an appointment
to your zone outside of your PC.About Calendar Attachments: O2M won't currently export calendar attachments because most Macintosh calendar programs don't allow attachments to be imported.This will hopefully change in the future.Calendar Program You Use
Choose which calendar program you plan to use
to import your exported Outlook calendar appointments.If you use Apple iCal for Jaguar (OS X 10.Your appointments will all be stored in a single ics (iCal) file,
which makes it easy to move them to your Macintosh computer.Each
contact will be saved into its own ics file.You can export all of the appointments in your calendar,
or only ones that fall within a certain date range.If this is the case,
O2M can try to convert the invitees' names into email
addresses so that you can respond or forward to exported
appointments.Please note that looking up invitee email addresses
can be time consuming, especially for invitations addressed
to hundreds of users, and it doesn't always work, depending on
your Exchange Server's settings.To skip all lookups, choose
Only look up...To look up all invitees on all
meeting invitations, choose Look up all....Drive mode, O2M will only export a maximum of 5 emails, contacts, and calendar items.O2M is ready to begin.Click Next to start exporting.Each item that is exported
will appear on the screen, along with vital information about it.In the example shown below, an email folder called 'Inbox' containing 1508 messages
is being converted.Click Stop to stop O2M from exporting at any time.When the export is complete, O2M will show you how many folders were exported,
and where your exported files were saved.Review the Log File
If you'd like to see the details of O2M's work,
view the O2M log report by clicking the Open Log File
button at the bottom of O2M's Finished screen.The log file shows which export options you chose, which folders were processed,
