We're Marching On...Ohbijou is an indie pop band based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.You can help by expanding it.Mocking Music Presents: Les Georges Leningrad!Hottest Bands In Canada, v.This is where the Canadian seven piece band Ohbijou comes in.Hailing from Toronto, Canada, this seven piece set consists of sisters Casey and Jennifer Mecija, Heather Kirby, James Bunton, Anissa Hart, Ryan Carley and Andrew Kinoshita.Some of their musical instruments of choice includes; a violin, ukelele, trumpet, glockenspiel and mandolin.So before even listening to them, you can already assume that they'll sound like a mini orchestra.But what stands out the most from all the other bands is that Ohbijou uses a wide array of musical instruments and they manage to keep that mature and polished sound intact.It's really an interesting and relaxing feeling when you hear the soft vocals along with the unique instruments mixed together in one song.They have an album out right now titled Swift Feet For Troubling Times and it keeps my head cool on those hot, and unbearable summer days.If the Fall season was to have a soundtrack, it would be this album.Ohbijou manages to capture that piles of foliage, warm sweater feeling and transport all of it into an orchestra like environment.Fall is months away, but Ohbijou will keep me wishing over and over again for it to be here already.Ohbijou siteMyspace ( to listen to more songs, videos)P.Having said that, people who read our blog must know we hope people will fall in love and buy the real thing to support the band.Want to namedrop a band?If there is an expired link, just email us the artist name and song title and we will email you the song asap.October

Gorilla vs.Were you wondering what the best thing since sliced bread is?The show has been on for a while but I only recently caught on to its greatness.Have two bands performing together.Of the shows that I have heard so far, the best by a longshot is the pairing of stunningly beautiful Ohbijou with the shockingly frantic Kids on TV.Making things even more interesting were the eclectic bunch of really stellar covers that were included in the setlist.Ohbijou stepping up to recite the memorable lyrics and featuring both breakdancing and the violation of the CBC logo, or so I am told.Ohbijou are coming to the Artel on February 23rd, I am really excited about this show, especially since they had to cancel their last show when their van died.Kids on TV and Ohbijou, Fuse, CBC Radio, 30 December 2006 broadcast
