Bearzatti "Tinissima" Qt.Magyarkanisza in Vojvodina (riproposta in questo compact della Leo Records) merita la massima attenzione.Col suo String Trio, Mezei ha suonato anche in Italia (a Rovereto nel 1998) ma e' piu' spesso presente in Germania, dove ha stretto proficui rapporti artistici con i musicisti mitteleuropei.Non e' casuale quindi vedere in quest'ensemble i notevoli sassofonisti tedeschi Michael Hornstein e Matthias Schubert, a cui s'aggiunge l'ottimo trombonista danese Jens Balder.Una grande intensita' lirica all'interno di un contesto free orchestrale (sapientemente arrangiato) dove Michael Hornstein, Matthias Schubert e Bogdan Rankovic evidenziano le loro ricche doti.La trama magmatica e vibrante sembra riportarci di colpo al clima della New Thing anni sessanta, esente da intenti di repertorio o celebrativi.In questo rincorrersi d'invenzioni sonore i solisti hanno modo d'emergere con emozionanti assoli: oltre a quelli giu' citati e' necessario ricordare il trombonista Jens Balder, la pianista Svetlana Maras, lo stesso Szilard Mezei alla viola ed il possente apporto ritmico offerto dal bassista Ervin Malina e dal batterista Istvan Csik.Visita il sito di Szilard Mezei International Ensemble.Centrale recensioni
