T. Fuller biography, T. Fuller discography
This article is about the stem cell biologist.Alma mater
Brandeis University, M.Fuller is a developmental biologist known for her research on the male germ line and defining the role of the stem cell environment (the hub cells that establish the niche of particular cells) in specifying cell fate and differentiation.Biography

November 15, 1838, at Lempster, New Hampshire. He commenced his classical education at Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, New Hampshire, and entered college in
the Fall of 1859, as a member of the class of 63.On account of ill health, he was obliged
to leave in the Spring of 1860, and spent a year in recuperating.Fredonia, New York, which position he occupied until March, 1867, when he decided to
study for the ministry.Spring of that year, when he taught in the Department
of Natural Sciences at Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, New Hampshire.Union Theological Seminary, New York City, where he graduated in May, 1869.February, 1869, by the New York Third Presbytery, and in October, 1869, began his
ministerial work as Pastor of the Congregational Church, at Peshtigo, Wisconsin. He then accepted a call to become Principal of the Academy at St.Johnsbury, Vermont, where he remained until August, 1882.Old Dartmouth has had in late years, he
was granted a year's leave of absence to go abroad.Institute, at Worcester, Massachusetts, which he decided to accept chiefly because he felt
the necessity of a change of climate.Dear Sir: At a meeting of the Trustees of St.After his acceptance of the Principalship of the Worcester Free Institute, he had
five months' leave of absence to visit Technical Schools.Technical Schools of England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Russia and
Austria. He received the degree of Master of Arts in course."Methods of Producing Steel," read before the
Worcester Natural History Society, on January 12, 1884.He was married June 15, 1870, to Miss Etta Jones, of Fredonia, New York. One of the great advantages of this system is that stem cells can be studied in situ, in the context of their normal support cells. We investigate the mechanisms that regulate and mediate cellular differentiation during male gametogenesis in Drosophila. Our current work focuses on three areas. We are investigating the mechanisms that regulate the unique program of gene expression that takes place in primary spermatocytes in preparation for the dramatic morphogenetic events of spermatid differentiation. Our current work indicates that human homologs of the Drosophila mitofusin protein regulate mitochondrial morphology in human cells and may play a role in differentiation of heart and skeletal muscle. To investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms that regulate and mediate cytokinesis, we are cloning selected of these genes. Our initial results indicate that shared mechanisms involving addition of new membrane are required for both cleavage furrow constriction during cytokinesis and polarized cell elongation during later terminal differentiation.Male and female Drosophila germline stem cells: two versions of immortality.Translational control of meiotic cell cycle progression and spermatid differentiation in male germ cells by a novel eIF4G homolog. In addition, our work implicates components upstream of the Rb
pathway in the control of terminal differentiation. In addition, our work implicates
components upstream of the Rb pathway in the control of terminal differentiation. We are studying the mechanisms that regulate the core cell cycle machinery
to control the developmentally specific cell cycle of meiosis. We have identified mutations in over 20 new genes that block different stages
of contractile ring assembly and function during male meiosis.Drosophila mitofusin protein regulate mitochondrial morphology
in human cells and may play a role in apotosis as well.Usage information:
