Unabomber biography, Unabomber discography

He lives in a ten by twelve cell.He escaped the death penalty.People will call him crazy. He was born Theodore John Kaczynski in Chicago, on the 22nd of May 1942.He has one younger brother, David.Turner Entertainment New Media Network.Understanding Unabom provides in depth insight into the coordinated activities of elements of the FBI, NSA, and CIA before September 11th 2001.Activities that included the manufacture and management of a series of high profile, random terrorist events and selective assassinations.Covered up, despite a wide trail of undeniable proof and multiple witnesses. The only Unabom eyewitness rejected the first two sketches, but the FBI insisted on using them for seven years.FBI from a Berkley photo of the Patsy.Never mind what I think I saw. They'll tell me what I saw, and when I tell them it's off base, they'll just tell me again. That drawing's never been right.Enlarge the FBI Sketch and Decide for Yourself if it was Morphed from Ted Kaczynski's Photograph !!!June 1992 letter sent by the Unabomber to the NY Times.Nathan Salmon is Dettling's common law stepson from his relationship with Tessie Ann Salmon.Three former associates recognize the handwriting in the note as being similar to my handwriting.During the call I had assumed I was talking to Dettling's other son Aaron, age 14.Nathan's abruptness and commanding impatience at my inability to find a working pen made the call confusing and memorable. The call was a long distance call received in October or November of 1992 on a Wednesday at 7 pm.Unabomber Manifesto One evening in October of 1992 Michael Hren and I read parts of the Unabomber Manifesto on Dettling's computer (three years before it was mailed to the New York Times) and discussed it extensively with Dettling.Later during a conversation about the Unabomber in Hren's presence, he cited four instances of Unabomber bombs, defending each. His fourth instance of Unabomber bombings was a timber lobbyist, citing the timber industry actions on Redwoods as a justification. The justification was a continuance of a prior conversation.Sacramento timber lobbyist Gil Murray was murdered two years later by a Unabomber bomb.During this incident Dettling had just returned from an evening out, was intoxicated and highly animated.Calls were recorded in Colorado and are legally admissible.CIA to avoid complications with IRS etc.Dettling drove a rare and expensive car.But Dettling had no substantial job for many years, and no identifiable source of income other than five US Patents. It is my opinion that Dettling did not have adequate scientific knowledge or abilities to create the concepts described by the Patents.Ultra LSD Scandal fame) in 1959 on his third day at Harvard and every week thereafter. The public has never heard Ted Kaczynski's voice to date, nor seen him speak.Bomb Parts, Photos of Bomb Parts, and the Gelernter Switch Dettling's garage was a extensive wood and metal working shop.During a Wine Bottling party in the garage I pulled a large wooden gear from underneath the tarp and asked Ray what it was. When he thought none of the six other people present were looking, he attempted to remove the wire, which was attached to one of the gear teeth by an oval bronze plate.Upon seeing a photograph of the switch after the bombing, I immediately recognized the pattern of the wood in the switch body as well as the switch itself in every detail. One fire stick victim was permanently paralyzed by the attack.Repeated Ideological Arguments of Unabomber Manifesto issues Dettling and I often argued technology issues. Most of the points of view of the manifesto were very familiar to me.New York Times Summary of the Manifesto. The Aug 1995 New York Times article extracting manifesto sample quotes was a virtual list of his favorite sayings.Nathan R note, or anything else despite repeated insistent requests which started 6 months before they supposedly ever heard of Kaczynski. To this day they have not investigated my initial report.Stamps, DNA, Louis Freeh, and the VANPAC Assassination of Judge Robert Vance One evening during the fall of 1992, Dettling asked me to lick some stamps.Several days later Dettling showed off a heavily taped package to Hren and I.Hren asked him what it was.Because of these events, I independently (with Luckiew's assistance in 1996), examined stamp books to identify the stamps which resided in Dettling's desk drawer.Unabomber trial evidence (revealed after my report to the FBI).At one point during the many hours I spent in his office, I noted that the box which sat on Dettling's desk was addressed to a Judge, but I can not recall the name or address specifically.Judge Robert Vance later surfaced in federal appeals court testimony. The prosecutor in the VANPAC case, prior to his appointment to head the FBI as FBI Director, was Louis Freeh.Recently, FBI agent Thurman's fabrication of evidence in the VANPAC case against Moody was accepted as impeachment of Thurman's testimony in the Lockerby Case.It would be interesting to see how he lives today.Possible Photo of Unabomber ID individual In June of 1993 the Unabomber gave a secret number formatted as a social security number as his identifying code to avoid imitators speaking for him.The individual with the Social Security Number was ruled out as the Unabomber because he was in Jail during one of the bombings in June 1993.Sean was in an auto incident in the Palo Alto area in the spring of 1993, during which he fled, and it is assumed, was later incarcerated. However, Dettling was also incarcerated on a traffic situation in the early spring of 1993, and Pure Wood is apparently a common racist tattoo.Ted from Montana Named as Document Author During the 1992 conversation about the manifesto between Hren, Dettling, and Myself, Dettling asked me that since I was from Montana (My car had Montana Plates at the time) did I know Ted X.Since the last name he used was clearly not Vaughn, I replied no, I did not know the person.Proof Room Dettlings house included a separate building with a soundproof band room downstairs and an apartment upstairs. The walls of the band room (particularly the right wall) were speckled with irregular holes, which clearly appeared to be shrapnel from one or more explosions.Jackie Miller) who also remembers the shrapnel.Dettling's mansion was party central.During the five months I lived there at least 50 people spent entire evenings in this room and band practice was held there regularly. The Movie was about a terrorist who tried and failed to have a manifesto published by the New York Times and the Washington Post.Given the fact that the Unabomber manifesto was published in both papers three years later the incident is intriguing.Others were probably shown the same movie by Dettling at other times.Several Unabom devices had addresses which were a year or more out of date.Isopropyltrimethylmethane (Shit on Speed) During a conversation in Dettling's living room with six people present, one of the other tenants (Sean), was discussing a crime on TV news about an unusual murder with some admiration.Methane", which would cause them to die of cancer with no one the wiser. It seemed outrageously ludicrous at the time.Methyl for Meth or speed, Methane for shit).Sean, his girlfriend Reann, Hren, and Doug, Dettling and I were present.Heavily Used Carbon Paper Dettling's center desk drawer contained a stack of approximately 100 sheets of carbon paper, which were heavily used.Hren on one occasion and Hren examined them and remarked that they showed a number of words which were heavily XXX'd out.Copies of the manifesto were distributed by the bomber on carbon paper copies with numerous errors. She may have been present at some point during the creation of the Manifesto.Unabomber Wig Displayed in a Gay Parody Dettling had three wigs in his lower right hand desk drawer, which matched the hair in the sketch.Ray put on one of the wigs and a false mustache and danced around the room in a parody of a gay person to everyone's amusement.Unabomber Disguised for a Trip to the Fridge On one occasion I observed Dettling parading around the complex in a white robe and hood wearing dark aviator glasses and a wig, which appears in memory to match the sketch.TV area of the living room when he came down to get something from the fridge. The white garment looked like a terry cloth boxers or karate outfit coming down to the thighs, not a full length garment, but longer than a sweatshirt with hood.Hren's Photos Mike Hren often took photos around the complex. On at least one occasion Dettling strenuously objected to photos being taken in the office.During the time I lived there Dettling's house was for sale.On several occasions local Realtors walked through the house taking photos when Dettling was not home.Alps Photo in Office with Hood and Glasses Dettling had a photo of himself and his wife (common law) taken during a ski trip to the Swiss Alps prominently displayed in his office. The photo sans the Alps is identical to the Unabomber sketch.Actually, I still can't :).Just Kidding On several occasions during the time I lived there I observed a strange behavior sequence in Ray.Once he smashed an expensive etched crystal storm lamp in this manner in front of four people in his office to their shock and amazement (Gerald, Tony, Michelle, and myself). No Airplane crash was ever linked to the Airplane Mail Bomb threat but it nevertheless provided a personal source of anxiety and hysteria on several occasions in the following years.Kaczynski's involvement or non involvement in these matters be brought out.NEWS Cool Standing Trial?Unabomber Comprehensive coverage of the Unabomber trial by the Sacramento Bee.This time my return was prompted not by nostalgia but by curiosity.Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. In 1959 a comfortable old house stood on the site.Known as the Annex, it served as a laboratory in which staff members of the Department of Social Relations conducted research on human subjects. To preserve the anonymity of these student guinea pigs, experimenters referred to individuals by code name only.University of Michigan in 1967 and then joined the Berkeley Department of Mathematics as an instructor. In the early 1970s, at roughly the same time, we separately fled civilization to the Montana wilderness. Our place had neither telephone nor electricity; it was ten miles from the nearest neighbor. In winter we were snowbound for months at a time.In our desire to leave civilization Kaczynski and I were not alone. To what degree were his motives simply a more extreme form of the alienation that prompted so many of us to seek solace in the backwoods? Most of us may believe we already know Ted Kaczynski. He is a paranoid schizophrenic, and there is nothing more about him to interest us.But the conventional wisdom is mistaken.Kaczynski is neither the extreme loner he has been made out to be nor in any clinical sense mentally ill.Murray experiment from Kaczynski himself. We had begun corresponding in July of 1998, a couple of months after a federal court in Sacramento sentenced him to life without possibility of parole.Kaczynski, I quickly discovered, was an indefatigable correspondent. The letters were written with great humor, intelligence, and care.He has apparently carried on a similarly voluminous correspondence with many others, often developing close friendships with them through the mail.Kaczynski told me that the Henry A.One of his defense investigators, he said, reported that the center had told participating psychologists not to talk with his defense team.Several of the research assistants I interviewed couldn't, or wouldn't, talk much about the study. But because Kaczynski's alias was by then known to some journalists, I was not permitted to view his records. The Unabomber was created when these two belief systems converged.During his college years he had fantasies of living a primitive life and fantasized himself as "an agitator, rousing mobs to frenzies of revolutionary violence."It was at Harvard that Kaczynski began to have fantasies of revenge, began to dream of escaping into wilderness.Kaczynski titled "Industrial Society and Its Future," and which the press called "The Manifesto."Recognizing the manifesto as Kaczynski's writing, his brother, David, turned Kaczynski in to the FBI, which arrested him at his Montana cabin on April 3, 1996.Johnson offered a "provisional" diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, but she concluded that Kaczynski was nevertheless competent to represent himself.Faced with the prospect of a humiliating trial in which his attorneys would portray him as insane and his philosophy as the ravings of a madman, Kaczynski capitulated: in exchange for the government's agreement not to seek the death penalty, he pleaded guilty to thirteen federal bombing offenses that killed three men and seriously injured two others, and acknowledged responsibility for sixteen bombings from 1978 to 1995.Hence science and technology constitute "a mass power movement, and many scientists gratify their need for power through identification with this mass movement."Therefore "the technophiles are taking us all on an utterly reckless ride into the unknown."Indeed, the system will probably collapse on its own, when the weight of human suffering it creates becomes unbearable. But the longer it persists, the more devastating will be the ultimate collapse.Hence "revolutionaries" like the Unabomber "by hastening the onset of the breakdown will be reducing the extent of the disaster.""Our goal is only to destroy the existing form of society."It is to protect "wild nature," which is the opposite of technology.Admittedly, "eliminating industrial society" may have some "negative consequences," but "well, you can't eat your cake and have it too."HE Unabomber's manifesto was greeted in 1995 by many thoughtful people as a work of genius, or at least profundity, and as quite sane.In The New York Times the environmental writer Kirkpatrick Sale wrote that the Unabomber "is a rational man and his principal beliefs are, if hardly mainstream, entirely reasonable."The science writer Robert Wright observed in Time magazine, "There's a little bit of the unabomber in most of us."Ozick called the Unabomber a "philosophical criminal of exceptional intelligence and humanitarian purpose, who is driven to commit murder out of an uncompromising idealism."Church of Euthanasia Freedom Club; Unapack, the Unabomber Political Action Committee; alt.The University of Colorado hosted a panel titled "The Unabomber Had a Point."By 1997, however, when Kaczynski's trial opened, the view had shifted. The document, they argued, revealed a paranoid mind.During the trial the press frequently quoted legal experts who attested to Kaczynski's insanity.Gerald Lefcourt, then the president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, said the defendant was "obviously disturbed."Donald Heller, a former federal prosecutor, said, "This guy is not playing with a full deck."The writer Maggie Scarf suggested in The New Republic that Kaczynski suffered from "Narcissistic Personality Disorder."Michael Mello, a professor at Vermont Law School, is the author of The United States of America vs.To a degree this is true.Anxious to save Kaczynski from execution, David and Wanda gave a succession of interviews from 1996 onward to The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Sixty Minutes, among other outlets, in which they sought to portray Kaczynski as mentally disturbed and pathologically antisocial since childhood.Another, David Vernon Foster, saw "a clear and consistent picture of schizophrenia, paranoid type."Foster, who met with Kaczynski a few times but never formally examined him, cited his "delusional themes" as evidence of sickness.Amador, who never met Kaczynski at all, based his judgment on the "delusional beliefs" he detected in Kaczynski's writing. But Kaczynski was no more unkempt than many other people on our streets. His cabin was no messier than the offices of many college professors.Nor was Kaczynski really so much of a recluse.Kaczynski kept voluminous journals, and in one entry, apparently from before the bombing started, he anticipated this question. If I am successful at this, it is possible that, when I am caught (not alive, I fervently hope! And they are bound to try to analyse my psychology and depict me as "sick."Michael Mello suggests that the public wished to see Kaczynski as insane because his ideas are too extreme for us to contemplate without discomfort. He challenges our most cherished beliefs.Kaczynski's defense team convinced the media and the public that Kaczynski was crazy, even in the absence of credible evidence ...They decided that the Unabomber was mentally ill, and his ideas were mad. Then they forgot about the man and his ideas, and created a curative tale. But the truly disturbing aspect of Kaczynski and his ideas is not that they are so foreign but that they are so familiar. The manifesto is the work of neither a genius nor a maniac.Victorian frame house, standing just outside Harvard Yard.Harvard's dean of freshmen, had decided to use the house as living accommodations for the brightest, youngest freshmen."And like Kaczynski, I was majoring in mathematics.Yet I swear I never ever even saw the guy."Francis Murphy, the Prescott Street proctor, was a graduate student who had studied for the Catholic priesthood, and to Kaczynski it seemed the house was intended to be run more like a monastery than a dorm. All but seven intended to major in a mathematical science. All but three came from high schools outside New England, and therefore knew few people in Massachusetts.Much has been made of Kaczynski's being a "loner" and of his having been further isolated by Harvard's famed snobbism.Snobbism was indeed pervasive at Harvard back then.He owned just two pairs of slacks and only a few shirts.Harvard was a "tremendous thing for me," Kaczynski wrote in an unpublished autobiography that he completed in 1998 and showed to me.Feeling the strength of my own will, I became enthusiastic about will power."Freshmen were required to participate in sports, so Kaczynski took up swimming and then wrestling. He played the trombone, as he had in high school, even joining the Harvard band (which he quit almost as soon as he learned that he would have to attend drill sessions).Essentially a practical and realistic planner and an efficient worker....May have many achievements and satisfactions. The doctor further described Kaczynski thus: "Pleasant young man who is below usual college entrance age.He is at work on a book about Theodore Kaczynski.Ted Kaczynski killed three people and wounded 22 with his mailbombs, but it could have been much worse. He managed to sneak a bomb onto American Airlines Flight 444 from Chicago to Washington D.It exploded but only caused a small fire.As it is, the mad genius, whom investigators tagged as the University and Airline Bomber, would terrorize the country for nearly two decades. From his cabin in the woods in Montana, the reclusive mathematician would send out bomb after bomb, and letter after letter haranguing victims who had survived his attacks and taunting the media.Washington Post and the New York Times published in order to prevent the Unabomber from carrying out his threat to blow up a plane over Los Angeles.Someone recognized his ideas in that manifesto. It was his brother, David. And so, the brutal chess game between bomber and government came to an end as a family drama between two brothers, very much alike and yet different enough for one to give the other up for the public good.Sally Johnson, Theodore Kaczynski, the Unabomber, was a highly intelligent but socially withdrawn young man who went into rapid decline due to paranoid schizophrenia. From tests, interviews with Kaczynski and those who knew him, and studying Kaczynski's journals which document over 40 years of his life, Johnson concluded in a January 1998 report that the Unabomber had characteristic signs of schizophrenia, but also said he was competent to stand trial. These signs included "an almost total absence of interpersonal relationships," and "delusional thinking involving being controlled by modern technology."The report said his lack of ability to get along with women haunted him from the age of 15, when he was told by an older woman that he was a "beautiful boy."This lasted for 30 years, until he asked another woman about his appearance and she told him he was "run of the mill."Kaczynski eventually pleaded guilty to 13 counts of bombing and murder and is now serving several consecutive life sentences. In his own journals, some pages of which are in Spanish and others in code, Kaczynski repeatedly addressed two significant events in his life as being highly significant and triggering episodes of depression. He said his only notoriety in high school came when he constructed a pipe bomb in chemistry class. This also contributed to his isolation.Kaczynski sought psychiatric help after "experiencing several weeks of intense and persistent sexual excitement involving fantasies of being a female."He intended to discuss a referral for a sex change operation with the psychiatrist, but changed his mind in the waiting room and spoke only about anxiety at the prospect of being sent to Vietnam. This is clearly documented in his essay response to the Jacques Ellul book, "The Technological Society."Despite accepting a life sentence to avoid the death penalty, Kaczynski maintained that prosecutors had lied about him.The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled that the psychiatric report should be made public in order to provide a better understanding of the Unabomber's motivations.
