Utabi biography, Utabi discography
Real Name: Utabi Hirokawa Aliases: Kamishimo K.Undoubtedly, Utabi has borrowed existing ideas from some of the giants of the genre.Amon Tobin's Verbal, but Utabi's vocabulary of bleeps and tones is an undoubtedly original one.Eastern melodies, played on soft synths and even more ridiculous for it.Utabi is really just the 'moniker' of Utabi
Hirokawa), but I'm hoping it won't be the last. It's like Autechre versus the Super Mario Bros.Utabi's Manchurian Candy is a beautiful IDM release
that should be heard by all true electronic music lovers.Tokyo FM synthesis wizard UTABI HIROKAWA creates video game inspired music with his old SHARP X68000 computer."Japan's Utabi Hirokawa communicates in an extremely subtle fashion, and it all sounds refreshingly honest because what he has created here are songs.Tigerbeat6) and Joseph Nothing (Planet Mu), Utabi Hirokawa is at the forefront of the Japanese electronica scene, mixing influences from idm artists like Aphex Twin and Mouse on Mars with japanese Manga aesthetics and time signitures.Inspite of obvious comparisons to idm, Utabi cites more ecletic influences, such as jazz legend's Grant Green and Hermeto Pascoal as well as more obscure japanese artists like Expo, Yan Tomita and Cosmic Invention.Web Design and Engineering by Default, business intelligence by SpringBolt. This little number is from the second album from Utabi Hirokawa.Every Saturday 5 new songs will replace the last update's.This will last as long as my space and bandwidth can handle it.Sorry about the lack of updates recently, had a lot going on.Update for this week won't be happening. It'll last as long as I feel it like it.Utabi

Blasting out of similar territory as his peer Com.Shot Of Love
last year), Utabi is a Japanese electronic artist that mashes genres like he's flipping a switch and pumps out electronic music with a sense of humor and an extreme short attention span. It's on "Three Tennies," though, that the melodic side of the release first makes and appearence and gets stuck in your head. With playful melodies that rival the bubbly sounds of great Mouse On Mars tracks, the entire thing bounces along and builds nicely, punching and pulling the beats appropriately. The rest of the album wildly swings back and forth between more hyperactive beat programmed tracks and ones that rely more on melody. There's definitely some fun to be had besides the closing track, but if it's any pointer in the direction of future music by Utabi, there's even better work to come.Shot Of Love
last year), Utabi is a Japanese electronic artist that mashes genres like he's flipping a switch and pumps out electronic music with a sense of humor and an extreme short attention span. The first three tracks are all about the rhythm, too, as they burst out of the gate with stuttering, slamming beats and only enough breathing room to fire off some indecipherable samples. It's on "Three Tennies," though, that the melodic side of the release first makes and appearence and gets stuck in your head. There's definitely some fun to be had besides the closing track, but if it's any pointer in the direction of future music by Utabi, there's even better work to come. All rights reserved, all wrongs reversed.
