Vayo biography, Vayo discography
Don't have an account yet?Today we travelled along the desert View Road to the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon. In our planning we had not anticipated visiting the Northern Rim expecting the road to be closed.Lots of nice scenery along the way, mostly small brush and rocks as we passed through the Painted Desert. Some Indian stalls selling jewellery and rugs, most of them closed for the season.Stopped at the Navajo Bridge over the Colorado River at Lees Ferry, AZ.Long way down, about 537 feet high.Joe had fun throwing a couple of rocks off the bridge, the big ones certainly made a bang!Started seeing snow along the road as we got higher on the way into Jacob Creek Lake. Can take it easy as we have plenty of time to get to Las Vegas which is less than 3 hours away.Lots of variation along the way often falling below 0C.Loaded up with muffins and coffee for the morning trip.Nice detour, can see that the road was very popular in its day.Lots of Rt 66 memorabilia.Rejoined Interstate just before Williams, AZ and stopped for gas in Williams.Saw an Elk (we think it was an Elk, Joe says it was) as we enetered the park.No way really down to Colorado River expect to catch a mule or hike down.Only 2 people did the trip today. The road along the Southern Rim is closed in Summer, access by Shuttle Bus only.Saw quite a few deer as we were leaving the park around 5PM.Had more choice with accommodation than expected.Joe and I as he snores and he is so tall (he says I snore too).Getting discounts on accommodation is easier with the Internet and Discount Hotel coupons. We look for places with Internet access.Useful sites for checking rates and facilities are:
www.Started at Leeds Ave boat ramp and rode all the way into Charleton into the harbour and bridges.Russell's 9mm Pistol and 22 Rifle with scope this afternoon. The first shot on the 9mm was amazing.Hit the center a few times and on target expect for one shot. Not sure what happened there.Joe use the 9mm because I think it is just a little too powerful for him at this stage.Thanksgiving sales start today from about 5AM, lots of leaftlets in yesterday's newspapers, just like Boxing Day sales in Australia only earlier.Wonder how many they had in the first place.Nice food, lots of people there.Price included soft drink and refills.Russell got stuck into the Crawfish which are like prawns and shrimp. He managed to eat 20 of those as an entree.Good variety of food, something for everyone.Best shopping today was at Walmart, no rebates and price reductions last for a few days so not as much a hurry.Don't worry about an alarm clock in Adam's Run, SC.No the crime rates isn't higher in Adam's Run than anywhere else, it's DEER HUNTING SEASON!Not sure whether it was the rooster or guns but the first sound I heard was some distant gunshots.Russell told me the night before that I may hear them and he was right.Russell took a shot with his shotgun from his porch out the back.Welcome to South Carolina, Joe.Leaving Washington DC today, heading South.Cold Breakfast in the hotel Restaraunt.Great breakfast, plenty of variety.Looks like south is the direction to go.Great to see the planes up close. Not bad considering we covered about 520 miles in about 9 hours including stops.Went book shopping today in St Catharines, Ontario, Joe had a day of much needed rest.First stop Book Depot retail outlet.Huge store and even bigger range of books (and audio books).Walked away with a full box of books expertly and tightly packed which I will take to the Post Office to send back.Spent a couple of hours there discussing logistics of shipping, etc.Well worth the visit as this is one of the largest remainder book outlets in Nth America.Got back at 3PM, Joe still resting. Then we went shopping at the Outlet stores in Niagara. We walked inside and it looked like we had gone back in time into the 50's.We looked inside and there they were the old people, we knew we must have been in the right place.Better than the fast food chains.NGEL: Danzaringenres you will loveLatin: framed only by the acoustic instruments (bandoneon, guitar and bass) that are typical of the genre since the early times.Following the tango tradition in which the music is played for listening as well as for dancing, Vayo makes tangos intimate, personal, poetic, and dramatic. In my singing I direct my voice to a listener who is near me.TANGO LEGENDS, distributed by BDC, can be purchased in major stores throughout the United States and at his website (vayoraimondo.Vayo titled his album TANGO LEGENDS in honor of Toto Damario, his friend and mentor, who died after this recording and who is regarded as one of the finest bandoneonists ever. The bandoneon, the essential instrument for tango, is a type of reed accordion with buttons for both hands and without a keyboard.Miguel is the Director of the Symphonic Band and conductor of the Montevideo Symphony Orchestra.AM A TANGO and AT THE EDGE OF NIGHT) were recorded with the spontaneity of improvisation. He brought them together and the three of them developed a musical friendship. Then we began recording without stops, like a live performance. In Buenos Aires and Montevideo, the cities where tango originated, this music has become timeless like the classics and opera, although tango is tempered with the spontaneity of jazz and folk music.First created in the barrios and bordellos and in marginal areas of these urban centers, tango was a shared cultural bond. Both urban communities were an international ethnic melting pot for European immigrants at the start of the Twentieth Century, and tango emerged from the energy of the multicultural scene. From the beginning, the music and dance were virtually inseparable. However the famous tango singers of the 1920s, such as Carlos Gardel and Ignacio Corsini, were so respected that the audiences would stop dancing to just listen to them.Vayo Raimondo was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, to a family of descendants of Italian immigrants.Although Vayo has surrounded himself with art throughout his life, he also has had a long and satisfying career in the United States as a structural engineer. He lived in New York for several years and enjoyed performances at the Metropolitan Opera every week.It was a formative time for me as I began to discover the essence of music. He also regularly went to the ballet and to the art museums.Vayo also lived in Italy where he continued his exposure to music and other fine arts.During his youth Vayo performed in community theater opera productions as well as several stage plays. These were experiences that prepared me for later work as a tango vocalist. In 2004 Vayo toured in Europe leading his company of musicians and ballet dancers in a production of his own music and lyrics centered on tango. This concept led Vayo to compose his own tangos (two appear on the first album) as well as other music mostly rooted in his cultural background. His second CD, AT THE EDGE OF NIGHT, contains his original music and lyrics (about half of the themes are tangos).Unlike his previous recordings, Vayo includes seven instrumental themes in TANGO LEGENDS in order to fully spotlight the musicians. The subject matter covered by tango lyrics is enormous.Of course, many tangos are about love.Tangos can be about anything and any experience or state of mind.Have some ideas for improving the Key Phrase page? You are the owner of
