Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys biography, Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys discography

All songs written and recorded by Walter Sickert
Additional vocals by Edrie
Mastered by Dana J.Apparent influences abound, including electronic, goth, metal, experimental, rock and even country.More than anything, however, this album is driven by past experiences and an organic industrial sound.Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys really are shattered and destroyed. The song literally tears itself apart over issues of heartbreak, with the words and music working in seemingly accidental tandem. The quick rhythms and honest lyrics force the listener to step back and think about their own definition of love. And when one has come to believe that love may indeed be lost, Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys prove that more loss can exist than ever thought imaginable through ..It strikes upon the sensation that a loved one will never be able to get passed his or her anguish over a breakup and instead turns to revenge.Kristine Catalognaauthor: SepiachordIncluding toy instruments, even the implication of toy instruments, on your recording is an iffy maneuver. You can hear the snapping of tiny aortic wires and springs on this recording. Each song is a densely layered assemblage where Sickert's voice is accompanied by sounds that seem simultaneously natural and treated. They move in and out of prominence like haywire echoes. This layering is most evocative of industrial music in the days when the actual and the sampled became interchangeable.Walter's voice is the most consistantly distorted sound on the album. That, together with the raw almost naked subject matter of love lost, is reminiscent of the early work of Nine Inch Nails. This is a man who has been damaged, broken.Sickert isn't sick, he isn't someone rotting on the inside. We're only given the name of one of the broken toy army: Edrie. Her vocals arrive occasionally to counterpoint Walter's.CD

How Can I Help?Good News and bad newsa major minor thing...The rhythms are subdued by a soft guitar.Garde, it is the immediacy of the experience and the feelings that resonate after that experience that guides them to the beauty of the piece. You never know what you will get.Not to mention that out of all of the samplers I have ever used,
these two little work horses constantly deliver, even if you accidentally
soak them in blood or they get rained on; always a plus with any gear. The MicroKorg is a god stuck in a small keyboard, from straight up
church organ to space aged noiseatronic fluctuations not to mention its
built in vocoder! The Korg MicroSynth is an important piece of plastic and
wires that we are glad to have in our box of toys. There is a wide range from good to
horrible in their guitars. What appeals to you about the one you have? This guitar was handed down to
me from my father coming with documentation of it authenticity. An
instrument like this could easily be put on a shelf to be kept safe but in
doing so it would lose its purpose and its black magic would evaporate. It's true that guitar has a soul and it might be Walter's.It is
louder and sweeter and more melodic then any guitar I have ever heard.Art, oddities, human contortion, noise distortion, circus rumpus
and shows, shows, shows in the clubs in the streets. They may even do a new CD and have a website in the works.Patrick Ogle writes for Gearwire.Post new comment No HTML Allowed. The content of this field is kept private and will not be shown publicly. No HTML tags allowedLines and paragraphs break automatically."You must be logged in to do that.
