Whiskey Daredevils are playing in my town!We had specifically gone over our plan of a 10:00 am departure in the Tiki Bar over dinner as we had a long drive to Stuttgart.Christoph, as usual, was very clear and precise about the plan.The late night modification of the plan to contact Bob on the scrap of paper appears to be flawed at best.Dave and Bob decide during their brief conversation our best course of action is for us to call him back in 10 minutes.This is when having no speed limit on the Autobahn really pays off.The people there have always been very good to us, and for whatever reason some of the most interesting characters we know find their way there.Robin always handles things perfectly, and is a huge supporter of our kind of music.That could pay off, or could backfire horribly by leaving me groggy and listless.The other way to go is to reach for a cold German beer, and buckle up for the ride.The decision made, I reach for a Rothhaus Pils.The once boisterous room gets very quiet as everyone digs into the hearty meal.The large room fills up quickly, and becomes a real cavalcade of stars.At last there is also a big stage where I can run around a little bit and do stupid shit.The band clips really well and the crowd starts moshing around up front.The house is nice and cozy with interesting artwork and books everywhere.The open window allows in the sounds and smell of the Spring rain falling on the pines outside.Robin and his wife have cooked a large breakfast spread for both the Daredevils and Jacksons, so I am forced to climb out.While waiting for everyone to get it together, I notice a series of yearbooks collecting newspaper and magazine coverage dedicated to events of the day.But, you have to admit, we almost pulled that thing off!The German capital is by far the coldest of the tour.Some sort of ass whipping wind is coming in from Russia somewhere, and it is very attention getting.Ken, Leo, Eugene, and I decide to poke around a bit before heading to the club.It tastes really good, but the speed buzz hits me instantly.Who knew that they were such fans?Christoph steps in and takes TOTAL control of the logistics.Oh well, how often are you in Berlin?Christoph leads the charge to get both vans loaded, and he takes turns driving them back to the hotel area.Andrew and Ralf make him stop at a particular kebop shop, and then the two of them buy about 17 pounds of kebop (like gyro).The powerful Turkish coffee is still flowing through my system as I stare straight ahead unable to fall asleep despite being dead tired.Bob and Dave emerge from their tiny horrific room outfitted in leather pants.There is a large part of town known as the Reeperbahn (or Red Light District) where anything goes.If you have 35 Euros you can drink some absinthe while banging some knock out Czech girl.Klaus (wearing a leather vest and Gene Simmons boots) videotapes the whole thing.And you can take home the video.The club is located in a vacated department store in a blue collar section of town a few minutes from the Rheeperbahn.Leo makes a small paper airplane and slathers the entire thing with Chinese food hot sauce.It is surprisingly not as impressive as the Folkwang in Essen, but has some interesting avant garde installations.This helps buoy me somewhat, so I call Christoph to get the update on where the Daredevils are and target a meeting point.Christoph tells me they have set up shop at a strip bar that features naked girls riding a mechanical bull and are knee deep into beers.Bob is a huge Beatles fan, and even though the club is gone, it is still Holy Ground.We head back to the club to play and notice there is almost no promotion.No fliers, no posters, and sure as hell no press.Once again the ball appears to have been dropped by Fracko and Claas.The show turns out better than I feared when a small but enthusiastic crowd totally digs Hack Mack Jackson.Some band left a jean vest behind that is festooned with metal patches.Bob come back at 545am, and have no idea if the other guys are back yet.Turkish dance in my stomach.Operation Mad Ape (in what may be the worst toilet in Germany) followed by a shower that
