This web site is now maintained as a record of the YBF 2003, YBF 2004 and YBF 2005, and continues to receive about 25,000 visits per year as interested parties read the abstracts from these meetings.YBF 2005 was held at the prestigious Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT, UK.On the 21st of October 2005, the UK Bioinformatics Forum (UKBF), RSC Molecular Modelling Group (MMG) and the Institute of Physics jointly held the third annual Young Bioinformaticians Forum 2005 (YBF).The YBF 2004 was a tremendous success, with over 130 attendees, while during 2005 both BioSysBio and YBF took place, jointly attracting 185 delegates.PhD bioinformaticians to speak and attend the YBF from as wide an area of bioinformatics as possible.If you are a postgraduate student, I should like to invite you to submit an abstract.If you are a supervisor, I should like to invite you to nominate a graduate student to speak at the meeting, who should then submit an abstract.Those delegates whose abstracts are not selected for speaking slots will automatically be considered for a poster presentation.Each abstract should include the surnames and initials of the authors, as well as a title, the affiliatons of the authors (University or Institute Department of School), the abstract (text only) should be no more than 300 words.Watch a video of the opening address and prize giving of YBF 2004

Julia Handl of the Bioanalytical Sciences Group, School of Chemistry, University of Manchester won this year's YBF 2004 with her excellent presentation on multiobjective clustering.Her presentation was illustrated with good artificial examples.Kostas gave an excellent presentation with good delivery, confident presentation and very good visual material.Runner Up
Peter Giles of Dept.Pathology, Cardiff University was a close runner up for the poster prize with his poster about MADRAS, "a tool to question your data and test biologically meaningful hypotheses."Judges Panel
