You can watch Yonderboi develop, the LP is packed with emotions, doubts, and worries of a young man, trying to understand himself, society, love, war, and art.Hungarian artist goes by the name of Laszlo Fogarasi.Yonderboi showed small interest in music in his early years, the young Laszlo was not allowed to sing in the school choir.At this early age Yonderboi's primary interest was in visual art.Disappointed by the traditional musical education, Yonderboi started to make music his own way for fun.He never worried what note or chord he was playing and always concentrated on the emotional character of the songs.Yonderboi was always mesmerized by Eastern European cartoons, they glued him to the black and white TV at home.Besides the great animations young Laszlo was caught by the music accompanying these cartoons.Rex and a lot of symphonic music.Later Yonderboi also listened to the Hungarian and Polish jazz greatest of the sixties and seventies such as Studio 11, Rudolf Tomsits, Gyorgy Vukan, Syrius, Zbigniew Namislowski and Niemen, but also had big interest for cinema noir of the fifties and sixties.Yonderboi continued to High School at which age he travelled to Budapest a few times.He was hooked to music and spends most of his time in the capital looking for new records.Back at home in Mernye he continued to develop his own music and fell in digital love, through satellite TV with the first wave of French electronic music like The Super Discount Project, Air, and Dimitri from Paris.Finally it was released on Mole Listening Pearls in January 2000 and sould more than 30.It was praised all over the world and the young eighteen year olds music career had taken off.He was awarded the Golden Giraffe for best newcomer, which is the official award from the Hungarian music industry.The world was calling for him to come play and so he packed up his MPC2000 XL and formed The Yonderboi Quintet.He asked his friends, who also featured on the album: Balazs Zsagar on keys, turntablist DJ Bootsie, Andor Kovacs on guitar, and vocalist Edine Kutzora to form the Quintet.As the the live performance had a cool jazz sound and improvisation was a big part of the show Yonderboi was also asked to play many jazz festivals.He produced music for the Swiss expression artist Urs Luthi which was used for the Art Biennale of Venice and explored writing music to picture in several Hungarian movies.After two busy years Yonderboi decided to slow down, taking some time to recharge and experiment with music.An extreme interest for traditional song structures grew as he listened to classic pop songs.Yonderboi practiced his composing skills and developed musical sketches, while collecting life experience.Were You Thinking Of Me?Were You Thinking Of Me?Because crows eat cadaver, they sometimes also symbolize the malice and all the bad things in themselves.Fogarasi produces at the beginning of his album which is immediately a small resignation from his own musical past.The second album rises more and more into something absolutely unexpected.....While his first album was made intuitively and 'just happened', a great deal of thought has gone into his second record.Yonderboi has been watching the last couple of years.Dutch musician Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL)."Splendid Isolation" is the result.Yonderboi's Hungarian background greatly affects his music.Travelling Europe and the US has made this even more apparent.He finds western people more relaxed, less in need of asking big questions and more straightforward in their approach to life.In Eastern Europe life is never clear cut.These contradictions are reflected in his music, which is eclectic, rich and difficult to pigeonhole.Do you think it is needed to achieve anything or it's just something that's there, all the same?Is there a specific state or a condition that you are seeking?All lyrics are the property and copyright of their respective rights holders.As a youngster, Fogarasi was inspired by World music pioneers Osibisa, reigning French hip hop king MC Solaar, and the Hungarian and Polish jazz greats such as Studio 11, Rudolf Tomsits, Gyorgy Vukan, Syrius, and Zbigniew Namislowski.Pal, Lemongrass, Jaffa, and Bonobo.Dorfmeister,
