in die Jazzgeschichte eingetragene Band nennt sich seither Zentralquartett.Gruppenname Zentralquartett, mit Abstand betrachtet, durchaus
in anderem Sinne als stimmig.Jazz in der DDR besonders machte: Spontanes
und Strukturiertes, Hymnisches und Elegisches, Ausbruch und Aufbruch.Das Quartett hat diese Musik und diese Musizierhaltung weitergetragen:
in die Welt hinein.Musik, eingespielt in brisanter Zeit.DDR gab es nicht mehr, die Vereinigung noch nicht.Zentralquartetts nie spiegelgleich Befindlichkeit abbildete, manifestieren
diese Aufnahmen doch deutlich: Rasanz und Innehalten, Aufatmen und Nachdenklichkeit.Moment geschaffen, ein Bekenntnis
zum Herzschlag und zum Atemzug.Feier des Augenblicks und doch auch
so etwas wie ein historisches Dokument.Und nun spielen sie immer noch.Die Musik des Quartetts hat eine Menge mit den Lebenserfahrungen im
Osten Deutschlands zu tun.Spielhaltung, die in der Musik dieses Quartetts ihren
