Zephir biography, Zephir discography
The story is based on a tale that Brunhoff's wife, Cecile, had invented for their children.It tells of a young elephant called Babar who leaves the jungle, visits a big city, and returns to bring the benefits of civilization to his fellow elephants.Jean de Brunhoff published six more stories before his early death in 1937 at the age of 37.Babar eventually returns to the Elephant realm following the death of the previous King, who had eaten some poisonous mushrooms.Among Babar's other associates are the monkey Zephir, the old elephant counsellors Cornelius and Pompadour, his cousin Arthur, and his children, Pom, Flora and Alexander.Recently, a second daughter, Isabelle, was introduced.The Old Lady comes to live in the Kingdom as an honoured guest.Despite the presence of these counsellors, Babar's rule seems to be totally independent of any elected body, and completely autocratic.Mughal emperor of medieval India.Some writers, notably Herbert R.Kohl and Vivian Paley have argued that, although superficially delightful, the stories are politically and morally offensive.Old Clothes is another highly critical view, in which he concludes, "In imagining the independence of the land of the elephants, Jean de Brunhoff anticipates, more than a decade before history forced Europe to put it into practice, the theory of neocolonialism."Books
Jean de Brunhoff wrote and illustrated seven Babar books; the series was continued by his son, Laurent de Brunhoff.To which Fletch replied, "I don't know.In the 1988 movie Coming to America, Prince Akeem's elephant is named Babar.Babar is also mentioned in James Frey's A Million Little Pieces as a fond childhood memory.Babar is occasionally referenced in the British TV comedy series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps

control, but none have gotten it right until the
ZephIR.The ZephIR is now available for the USB !!!The ZephIR is basically a midget 'smart' infrared controller, just like your
home theater remote controls, only it has no buttons.It has one cable that attaches to the ADB or USB, and
requires no external power !It can 'learn' infrared commands, but it cannot normally be used as an infrared

Move the ZephIR!Power OFF the Mac (ok, don't, but suit your own sensitivities...Connect the ZephIR cable into your ADB or USB.The most important part of this tutorial is to show how to use the ZephIR with
your XTension system...Using the included software, you can 'learn' the commands from all of your
IR remotes, and save them on your Mac as neatly organized 'components' and

automatically point the 'end' of the unit rather than the 'side' at the component

Hardware and Software Installation
The ZephIR!CD contains 68K and PowerPC versions of the ZephIR!You can run the ZephIR Installer, or you can copy the files to your hard drive.Getting Started
When you launch ZephIR!ZephIR Browser window opens (Figure 2).The browser window contains a list of components that can be controlled by ZephIR!.Only a few components are installed from the CD, so the odds are low that your equipment will be among those listed.Each component consists of buttons that represent those on a remote control.You plug in the POWERMID transmitter and place it in front of the ZephIR!POWERMID combination except for finding a convenient place for the receiver.Figure 3
Downloading Components (Quick Remotes)
ZephIR!You may be able to find a ZephIR!It will also appear in the Quick Remotes submenu of the Remote menu.The Quick Remote is immediately ready for use.None of them had a prebuilt ZephIR!SONY CDPCX300 for my CDPCX350) but had no success.File menu and select the Component submenu.Two windows appear at the far right of your screen.You have to figure out what infrared frequency your remote control uses (40 or 56 kHz), how many pulses or repetitions it sends (1 to 5), and how many remote control button presses it will take for ZephIR!If you have downloaded a similar component, look at its commands and try using the same settings.If your equipment is unique, you will have to use trial and error to arrive at the best settings.You then point your remote control at the ZephIR!Your command programming window will now have a pattern of red and blue vertical lines (Figure 5).Figure 5
